Description |
This visualization provides data on the number of awards completed by students at four-year, degree-granting institutions in the United States that participate in or are eligible to participate in any federal student financial assistance program authorized by Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965. This data can be disaggregated by federal Classification of Instructional Programs (CIP) code and award level, e.g., bachelor's, master's. It can be used to compare academic program arrays across institutions. |

Important Notes |
IPEDS requires each institution to report on every program offered at the institution, even if there are zero completed awards in that program in a given year. So if an institution reports zero completions, it offered the program. On the other hand, a null/blank cell represents a program not offered by an institution. The IPEDS Completions survey has the concept of first major and second major. This visualization shows the sum of completions in both first and second majors. For several methodological reasons, the numbers shown in this visualization do not match those in other institutional data products, such as the Data Digest. For more information on the IPEDS surveys, visit: nces.ed.gov/ipeds/survey-components/ Additional institutional characteristics are available but are not presented in the visualization due to space limitations. If you are interested in additional institutional characteristics, please contact Noah Natzke.
