This visualization provides information about how and when undergraduates completed their Major Requirements. It provides data about course counts and Time to Degree for graduates since Summer 2013, according to Major Requirement and Sub-requirement, as well as data about when in their careers at UW-Madison students completed those courses and Requirements/Sub-requirements. |

Because of current data availability, this visualization is limited to Degree Programs and Additional Majors granted by L&S and CALS. Dashboards in this Workbook include coursework of graduates since Summer 2013 (including transfer students) and all course credit (including transfer, credit by exam, AP, and study abroad credit attached to courses in the student record). Coursework not taken at UW Madison may be excluded via the “Select Courses to Include” filter. In all workbooks except for “Majors Counting Courses,” filters are shared. Therefore, changing filters in one dashboard will automatically change the information shown in the other two dashboards. Additionally, in those three dashboards enrollments for students completing past versions of the curriculum may be included or excluded via the “Major Catalog Year, Last Term” and “Req. Catalog Year, Last Term” filters. All versions of the Major/Requirement are included in “Majors for which Courses Satisfied Requirements.” When switching between Majors, these filters may need to be adjusted if particular Major/Requirement versions were excluded in the previous Major. When moving from a Major with Named Options to another Major, the 'Named Option' filter must be reset to the '----' (no option) value. All offerings of active Crosslisted courses are listed throughout the visualization under a single offering (Subject and Catalog #), and enrollments in all of those offerings are combined. Offerings of inactive Crosslisted courses are not combined, and are represented by the Subject and Catalog # under which the student registered. Data Source Information about the courses students took and the Requirements those courses satisfied is taken from batch DARS (Degree Audit Reporting System) audits warehoused within the following Badger Analytics tables: BASP_DARS_JOBQ_RUN DARS batch audit data does not contain course cross-list information, and so Course ID and cross-list information is taken from the following InfoAccess views: UW.COURSE_CURRENT Information about student's degrees (such as Award Completion Term and Time to Degree) are taken from: UW.RETENTION_AWARDS_MAIN Years Enrolled at UW-Madison (UGRD) is calculated using term-by-term information from: UW.RETENTION_SEMESTER_HISTORY Information about Major and Requirement versions is taken from the DARSP (DARS Production server) encoding tables: RGDARS.DPROG |

| Academic Calendar Year (Fa,Sp,Su) | An academic calendar year consists of a sequential fall, spring, and summer terms. For example, the 2021-2022 academic calendar year includes fall 2021, spring 2022 and summer 2022. The academic calendar year is defined by the UW-Madison Faculty's Academic Calendar, governed by FPP (https://secfac.wisc.edu/academic-calendar/). Note: This term for “academic calendar year” was created for catalog purposes to align with the UW Madison curriculum. As a rule of thumb, institutional reporting follows the student and academic-related processes that mainly operate on a summer/fall/spring cycle (i.e. [[academic year (Su,Fa,Sp)]]. |

| Catalog Year and Term | The UW-Madison Academic Calendar Year and Term that determines the version of the curriculum (and set of Degree Requirements) that applies to a student. A student’s Catalog Year and Term is determined by rules set by the School/College offering the degree program. Different Catalog Year and Terms may apply to different Degree Requirements, subject to School/College policy. For instance, the Catalog Year and Term for an undergraduate student’s General Education Requirements may be determined by matriculation to any institution of higher learning, whereas the Catalog Year and Term for Major Requirements may be determined by the declaration date of the Major. |

Unlike "Fall and Spring Term Count", this assigns a Year count to every term in which a student was enrolled. |
