Master's Program Benchmarking: Student Experience

Last Updated
04/03/2025
Description

This data workbook summarizes student responses to select questions from the Graduate School Master's Exit Survey (MES) for each master's program over the past five academic years. The workbook also calculates differences in response means between each program and all other master's programs administered by the Graduate School, as well as programs in the associated disciplinary division, school/college, and disciplinary division within school/college respectively. Data can be filtered by student legal sex and/or demographic group to view comparisons by student subgroups for programs with sufficient numbers.

Important Notes

The Master's Exit Survey (MES) is a requirement for students graduating from master's programs at the university and is administered at the time of graduation. More detailed information on the survey can be found at https://kb.wisc.edu/grad/56327.

Reported numbers represent aggregated survey responses collected over the past five academic years (fall, 2019 to spring, 2024). For privacy reasons, data are redacted in this workbook when there are fewer than five responses. In such cases it is often possible to increase the number of reported responses by adjusting the provided filters. Once applied, a filter will adjust all dashboards in the workbook until the filter is cleared.
