Important Notes

The Master's Exit Survey (MES) is administered to graduating master's students just prior to degree completion. Master's students who have been issued a degree warrant by the Graduate School also receive an email with MES survey instructions and a link to the survey.  Graduates must complete the MES prior to submitting their signed degree warrant to the Graduate School.

For most master's students the survey is a required component of degree processing and conferral. However, certain master's students do not participate in the survey and are therefore not included in the reported data. These include graduates of Business MBA and Library & Information Studies MA programs, as well as enrolled PhD students earning a master's degree as part of their doctoral program.

More detailed information and a link to the current survey questionnaire can be found at https://kb.wisc.edu/grad/56327.

Responses to questions about postgraduate employment may differ from school/college reporting where career services offices individually follow up with their students after completion of the Master's Exit Survey.

For privacy reasons, data in this visualization are redacted when there are fewer than five responses. In such cases it is often possible to increase the number of reported responses by adjusting the provided filters.

Once applied, a filter will adjust all dashboards in the workbook until the filter is cleared.

The academic year filter in the visualization refers to the year in which the student's degree was conferred.
